I don't mean this in an ominous way, I mean it in the Weight Watchers sense. I had am AMAZING loss this week (2.4 pounds!!!) and am thrilled to say that I am now 21.6 pounds away from goal weight. I start a new weigh-in book next week. Each book has 16 weeks in it...my plan is to end this book at my goal weight... that would mean an average of 1.35 pounds per week... tough, but do-able! Taking into consideration my 3 weeks away in Sept, this should put me at goal by December 10 :) I might give myself a couple of extra weeks due to vacation, but my firm deadline for hitting goal is December 24 - Merry Christmas to me! I am sure I could go all crazy and be really strict with exercise and food (more so than I am now) and lose it faster than this, but I've learned over the past couple of years that faster is not always better - especially when it comes to weight loss. I don't want to go crazy these last 20+ pounds, get to goal, and then go back to my normal (WW) eating and have my body say "What the heck??!!" I want to continue doing this in a way that is healthy and maintainable for a lifetime.
I am not sure if this week's great loss had anything to do with my no sugary snacks during the week or if it was just time for my body to give up some weight... but I am debating doing another week of no sugary snacks. I wonder if my body "reacts" in some way to sugar...? I haven't had a loss like this in....hmmm, I don't - May I think...and before that it was too far back to remember. We'll see...I might do every other week as sugar-free(ish) and see how that goes...I love my sugar!!
On another note, I have booked my trip into London for two days during my England trip. Staying in the Westminster area at the University of Westminster residences (so cheap and central!!). I have so many suggestions from folks on things to do while I'm there that I just hope I have enough time to do it all! Thankfully I've been to London before, so there are some things I don't need to do again (wax museum, Harrods, etc.). I have a few things on my list that I really want to do - a couple walking tours among them. The place I am staying is only 0.6 miles from Buckingham Palace, so perhaps the Queen will have me over for tea with Wills and Kate ;-)

Yay, Tanya. What a great week! Don't forget, you've also been pushing yourself more with your exercise too! I know that you can and will reach your goal!
Thanks Shondi!!! I am more than pleased with this week and you are right - I have pushed myself with exercise more...no more points earned, but doing more exercise in the same amount of time :)
Thats awesome!! And youre so very right in the slow and steady pace!! Oh the things weve learned during this journey!!!
Yea!! I say stick with staying away from the sugary snacks. If you're able to, why bother with them. Good for you and keep it up!
Thanks! I am doing another week of this starting today...out of necessity really...went a little sugar crazy yesterday...unlike me - I didn't track at all for the second half of the day...I need to tame the sugar beast!!
Yes!! It's so wonderful and exciting!
The sugar thing really seems to work for you - do it again and do it well! How exciting to be planning for a vacation, that is always extra motivation. Congrats on the loss!

Congratulations. THat is a wonderful week's loss. Even more wonderful, seeing the finish line so close.
I am 27 pounds away from goal weight, which amazes me. I only just realized it this week. I'd been looking at the 185 goal so much, I didn't realize that 160 (ultimate goal weight), is not that far. It freaks me that I lose so slowly now--and have had some life tragedy-interruption of my challenge goals--but it's also a wonderful thing to SEE a finish line approaching. Then a whole new "maintenance" journey begins.
I actually am happy at my weight in the 180s. Really happy. But I push on...
Congrats again, and let's party when you hit your goal!
Thanks Princess Dieter! We're about neck in neck I think - my goal is a few pounds higher than yours (probably due to height). Yes, let's have a virtual party when we reach our goals! I'm finding mine is slow going lately too...but onward and upward...er, I mean downward!
I vote for another no-sugar week, since you have one under your belt already. I love it when someone gets near the finish line and has a plan on how to cross it!
I noticed that once I stopped eating sugar I didn't crave it anymore. Hope that is true for you as well. Great loss and congratulations.
Jo - started today! Downsizers - thanks! I hope so too :)
Congrats on the great loss!!! I try to be very careful about sugar, because it just makes me crave more sugar... and more. There are a few things with some sugar in them that I will eat, but I have to be very careful.
Most of the sugar in my diet comes from fruit though, and I see no need to limit that!
Thanks Thrice Blessed! I am a big sugar lover but I've decided I really need to cut back...getting most of it from fruit is a great idea!
Congratulations on those 2.4 pounds gone! That really is a nice loss, especially when you're so close to goal.
Cutting the sugar could have been what helped get a nice loss this week. Sugary foods are sooooo good .... even when you get used to the sugar free items, it's just not the same. And giving up sugary stuff isn't easy so not having them in one week is a great accomplishment.
What another great loss! Congratulations! I love your target of being close to your goal after you complete the next WW booklet. seems reasonable, too.
Stay strong and here is to another great week! Michele
YEAH!!! You are doing so awesome. Keep it up. I hit my goal this week and am so happy. Lots to still learn in the maintenance part.
Take care and good luck. Blessings!!
Yayyyyy Julie!!!!! Congrats on hitting goal - I am so excited for you!!!!
Thanks Michele!! :)
Congrats on the loss, they say cutting some things out here & there or adding in something different shakes things up a little so KUDOS!
Thank you!! :)
